About Kekkel en Kraai

Our first shop - 1996

Kekkel en Kraai was established in 1996 as an offset point for Tydstroom who, at that stage was owned by Bokomo. The first shop opened it’s doors in 1996 in Malmesbury in the Swartland(Western Cape). From there, many more Kekkel en Kraai shops were opened and  by 2008 we had over 70 shops, mostly in the Western and Eastern Cape. Today we service areas as far as Ladybrand and Senekal in the Freestate, as well as in the Northern Cape towns like Kakamas and Upington.
Kekkel en Kraai specialises primarily in fresh and frozen chicken products, although there are some stores in certain areas that also supplies processed chicken products. This range of products has also expanded recently and today we also supply products like eggs, sauces and spices that also falls under the Kekkel en Kraai brand name.

Our own brand name products

Kekkel en Kraai prouds itself on our own brand name products that we supply from only one supplier, which helps us to supply a consistently high quality range of products at all times.

Suppliers are carefully selected and we only use suppliers with the required accreditations.

The uniqueness of our group is that we can supply our products to the customer in the format, quantity and quality that they require. Kekkel en Kraai also has an extensive range of poultry products which makes it convenient for the customer.

Kekkel en Kraai is predominantly a owner driven business and almost all of our branches are managed by the owners themselves.
